INCLUSIVE BEAUTY

A diverse group of women

Pilot programme

In 2021 we ran our first inclusive beauty pilot with a mission to challenge the narrative around non-mainstream beauty standards.

Working with a London academy, over 7 weeks we engaged with 50, year 10 students .  Centred around dark skin tones, the programme explored the lack of representation within the industry and its formulation of products. As well as the importance of inclusive advertising. The programme goals were also embedded in two academic subjects science and Media studies.

Working directly with brands, students were encouraged to make their own sample product and plan a promotional campaign aimed at diverse audiences. The programme finished with an opportunity to gain a week's paid work experience.

SPECIAL NEEDS PILOT

In 2022 we challenged the narrative around the intersectionality of race and disability.

A hugely underrepresented group across both the media and beauty industry, with less than 4% of beauty products accessible to this community.

Working with S.E.N.D schools we curated a positive platform for representation. Across two days, we explored topics of identity and inclusivity within the beauty industry. Followed by a beauty tutorial on how to use make up for confidence and resilience.
